This Privacy Policy describes how Five Prayers ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
1. Summary
Five Prayers is a 100% free, privacy-first application. All prayer calculations are performed locally on your device. We do not operate servers, collect personal data, or track your behavior. We do not use any third-party services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Device Location
- What: Your approximate or precise geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude).
- Why: Solely to calculate accurate Islamic prayer times for your location.
- How: Collected on demand when you first set up the app or refresh your location. Not transmitted to any server.
- Storage: Stored locally on your device using
SharedPreferences. It never leaves your device.
You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. Without location access, prayer times cannot be calculated automatically.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information.
- We do not collect analytics or usage statistics.
- We do not collect crash reports or diagnostics.
- We do not use advertising identifiers or serve ads.
- We do not share any data with third parties.
4. Local Storage
The app stores the following data locally on your device only:

All data is stored using Android/iOS system storage (SharedPreferences) and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
5. Notifications and Alarms
The app may request permission to send local notifications and schedule alarms to remind you of prayer times. These notifications:
- Are scheduled entirely on-device.
- Do not involve any network communication.
- Can be disabled at any time from your device settings or within the app.

Permissions are requested only when needed and are never used beyond their stated purpose.
7. Children's Privacy
Five Prayers does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app contains no user accounts, social features, or data collection that would pose a risk to children.
8. Data Security
Since all data remains on your device, you control its security. Your device's operating system security mechanisms (encryption, app sandboxing) protect this data. We have no access to it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Any changes will be reflected with an updated Last Updated date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
